Australian High Commission Speeches

We were privileged and honoured to have @Sean Choolburra perform the first ever smoking ceremony at the Australian High Commission for our 2020 Australia Day Reception. Smoking ceremonies are an ancient custom among Aboriginal Australians  in which native plants are burnt to produce smoke to ward off bad spirits, acknowledge ancestors and pay respect to the land and sea of country. The smoke is believed to have healing and cleansing properties. Thanks to @CarnivalOz for bringing Sean to Vanuatu. Thank you also to the #ANZBankVanuatu for sponsoring the catering, @southpacificelectrics for sponsoring tents and lights and @activ.association for the succulent Aelan chocolate.  @indigenousaustralianculture #40YearsTogether #TugetaYumiStanap
